Theories of Race
Earlier this year, we partnered with the team at Harvard University’s Hutchins Center for African & African American Research to design “Theories of Race: An annotated anthology of essays on race, 1684–1900.” Part of the “Who's Black and Why?” project from Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and Andrew S. Curran, the digital format prioritizes readability for excerpts from a variety of primary sources and thematic highlights from across time and space. The book was compiled by Geoffrey Galt Harpham and includes his thought-provoking introductions to the texts.
